The Karen people are an ethnic group that have been displaced from their homeland due to the worlds longest-running civil war in Myanmar. The majority are living in overpopulated refugee camps in Thailand and an increasing number are scattered throughout the world via refugee settlement programs. Over 2000 Karen refugees have decided to come to Bendigo, Australia. This incredibly unique Asian culture is integrating with Bendigo, a regional Australian town and becoming a celebrated part of the community. 'We Are Karen' tells the story of how and why this migration is happening and succeeding.

Brown Girls Do Ballet, a philanthropic organization often featured for its noteworthy Instagram movement, wanted to produce their 2018 calendar shoot with a new angle. These dancers go through so much in their careers due to discrimination based on the color of their skin. These experiences have made them push harder to become the amazing dancers they are.

"When the Land Calls" was inspired by the work of photographer James Ravillious, who in the 1970s and 80s documented the fast disappearing rural life of North Devon. One of his subjects was farmer Bill Strawbridge. Today Bill's grandson Ed farms the same land. The film follows Ed through his day on the dairy farm and as he looks back at Ravillious's photographs of the farming life in the years before he was born. Earlier this year "When the Land Calls" won the Arri/Director's UK Challenge - to film, edit and deliver a three minute film on the subject of Millenials in just three days using an Arri Amira.

Speaking from the slum of Bistekville 4 in Quezon City (Manila), volunteer team leader Rob goes through the first 3 days of challenges that the team ohas had to face. But also what made them proud and what made it a trip they'll always remember.

'Working the Sea' follows the fortunes of the Bagwells, a Sidmouth fishing family from the forties when young Stan was fishing with his father in a borrowed boat, to the nineties when they have two fish shops, two trawlers fishing out of Brixham, and three boats working off the beach at Sidmouth. Then, tragedy strikes and the women of the family pick up the pieces. The film also weaves the contemporary users of the coast, from the sailing club to the lifeboat, into the narrative. So this is ultimately a film about community spirit and how a mutual love of and respect for the sea draws people together. 'This stunning film: fascinating and inspiring, funny and humbling is a powerful reminder how lucky we are on the coast'.
