Embrace The Journey - Not A #

We've all heard time and time again to, "Embrace The Journey" and "Trust The Process". If you truly live your life by these words everyday, you'll know what they really mean. For Tony Jakstis, it's always about being optimistic, supportive and truly embracing the journey regardless of all the set backs and failures. Coming from welfare, it's not easy to make your dreams come true when there's a lot of people who doubt you. As an aspiring actor with fame during his early teens, a multi-million dollar business owner and the founder of a non-profit centered around at-risk youth after having his sister nearly taken away from a car accident, Tony's journey has been a struggle...and it's only beginning. This is his story... "Embrace The Journey - Not A #"

Portrait of my Father : 28 years as a mountain rescue

After 28 years working as a Mountain Rescue, my Father retired. This is a short documentary about his career, his experiences and about a job of which the details are not well known to many. I have, myself, learned a lot during the two days while making this portrait. The joys of having a job that was more a passion than work, the strong bonds made over the years, but also the risks and the emotional impact of some of the missions. So, here is a short and condensed piece about a career that is, to me, extraordinary; of a humble and courageous man that I call my Dad.

The Water Sommelier

Martin Riese is a water sommelier, which, despite what your brain might be telling you right now, is a real thing. Riese is perhaps the most well known of a very small pool of water sommeliers around the world who have made a profession of tasting, analyzing, judging, and ultimately spreading the good word about the many different flavors of water our tastebuds have been missing out on. For this film, we followed Martin from his home at the Patina Restaurant in Los Angeles to the first of its kind water competition and trade show in Guangzhou, China. Why? “Because water is not just water.”

Battle for Birthday Mountain

Norway wants to give Finland a mountain for its birthday. Bjørn Geirr Harsson is facing an uphill legal battle for an arctic mountain-sized birthday present between neighboring countries. Bjørn, a retired geophysicist of the Norwegian Mapping Authority, had an idea to fix an anomaly along the border between Norway and Finland, and give Finland what would be its tallest mountain for it’s 100th birthday. Considering the tumultuous history of international boundaries, this would be an unprecedented show of kindness between countries. But how exactly does one give away a mountain?

Return to High Chaparral

Last year, we visited a theme park celebrating America’s mythic Wild West in wintery Sweden that became a welcoming home for refugees fleeing the Syrian civil war: As strange as that sounds, this was a pretty good deal for about 500 people looking to start a new life. But with global political winds shifting toward isolationism, the Wild West response to a refugee crisis only lasts so long. We went back to see how the West was lost.

And now it seems the whole country is talking about their favorite daughter. Slovenia couldn't be further removed from her husband's vision for America, but Slovenians across the country are embracing The Donald and making preparations for a boom in tourism that, if all goes as planned, should start any moment now. If you try not to get too partisan for about 20 minutes, FIRST LADYLAND will make you smile bigly. But if we go missing, please check our coffee for cyanide.

“Everything is Possible”

There are moments in our lives when our adversities feel too big to handle; when the darkness becomes a way of life. Jen Bricker speaks about how regardless of the problem(s) that you face, God is bigger than your biggest struggle and He will turn your darkness into eternal light. Often times we let our own minds put limits on our lives, but remember what Jesus said in the book of Mark, "If you can! All things are possible to him who believes." RSV

John Deere • Farming is in Their Blood

John Deere is helping farmers adapt with precision technology that connects people, equipment and technology to make a good farm even better. To let the world know about, we went to Clear Meadow Farm in White Hall, Maryland and documented one family's multi-generational story. The key was to make the story feel authentic, so other farmers would connect emotionally. The Rose family let us into their homes and their lives for three days while we captured their spirit. Shoot details: 3 day shoot 5 person crew [from Racepoint Global agency in Boston] 2 Sony A7riis, 1 Movi M5, and a small assortment of Sony Batis lenses 1 Drone I served as a videographer, main editor and colorist on this project. Home lives inside us depicts the reality of four homeless people through objects that are part of the environment they live in. Seen from a different angle, these objects show what can still be considered “home” in the lives of Aloísio, Marlon, Lenice and Alex. These four citizens are invisible to society, but these objects reveal the desire for humanization expressed in their improvised homes, among a large city’s many adversities With an unpublished text by Tarso de Melo, a distinguished poet of the latest writers’ generation of São Paulo, Home lives inside us is an extremely urban narrative, simultaneously raw and sensitive. In it, objects represent one of contemporaneity’s most serious problems: housing, in a context in which human beings are disposable objects, often invisible.

The Ballot or the Bullet | An American Portrait

As a Canadian traveling through Baltimore and Washington during the time of the Trump election, I noticed a lot of things that stood out to me. The anger, aggression and divide between the political parties, the extremely evident racial separation and the stark contrast between the rich and the poor. These things were all incredibly prominent as we drove through the streets of these cities. I wanted to create a video that would not only show this, but also deliver a message that to me, all this divide and anger does not make any sense. In the world that we live in today, we need more love and compassion, we need more understanding for each other and we need to make a change.

Reclaimed Lights - ARP - Celebration Chandelier

xxxxx offers an insight into the craft and work of the immensely talented London based British designer/artist Alkesh Parmar who turns discarded scrap materials into amazing sculptures of lights, this short film explores Alkesh's practice, presenting the work of his recent project - Celebration Chandelier. His work often utilises banal everyday objects, most of the time these materials are discarded after use such as the champagne corks used for this chandelier. “The notion of recycling is an important part to my practice, however this is not my prime objective.” The central point of his work is light and the relationship it shares with the objects. The corks are hollowed out and outfitted with LED bulbs, programmed with circuitry which then customised to various interiors including restaurants, bars and homes. Each cork is hand crafted into individual lamps and grouped together to form a neutral, warm and beautiful chandelier. --- Designer/Artist: Alkesh Parmar Directed &
