This is a film for my family, The Deckers. Every Thanksgiving our family, all 23 of us, get together in Northern Pennsylvania and decorate my Grandparents house for the Christmas season. Their house is placed on a mountain side and is viewable from 81. At night it lights up the hill and is a sight for many people driving down the highway. People make the trip out just to see their house. Its always been a special part of my childhood and last year rather then helping with the lights I decided to film it all. I then sat down with my Poppy, Roland Decker, and recorded him telling me about how this all started, on my iPhone. As we all get older and life gets more hectic, looking back, I really cherish all the seasons where our whole family was able to gather together. This video is for them.

This mini documentary takes a look in to the world of independent film making, and is a must watch for any one involved with, getting started in or just has a passing interest in film making. An alternative title for it could have been "How a couple of guys set up an Oscar nominated production company from nothing." It shows that there truly is "no set path" to success when it comes to film making, although there are a number of important traits, like passion, determination and high standards that certainly do help.
Jon Drever who is the co-founder and co-owner of Grain Media and a friend of mine very kindly let me into his professional world and spoke candily and honestly, allowing me to relive his journey in film making from very humble beginnings to running the extremely successful independent production company Grain Media. Its been an honour to be able to create something that hopefully goes some way to showing this inspirational journey.

This year PUBLIC 2015 pressed north of the city to the open landscapes of the Wheatbelt, launching with a series of murals splashed across 36 metre grain silos and the walls of downtown Northam. London artist Phlegm, Atlanta native HENSE gathered their paint tins, aerosols, rollers and brushes and struck out for a two week residency at the heritage town on the banks of the Avon River.
Across eight huge storage towers of the state’s grain handler, CBH, Phlegm rendered his whimsical characters in their fantastic transportation devices while perched on the extended arm of a boom lift and using brushes strapped to a long pole. HENSE, adjacent, lobbed his explosive patterns across the silos in blocks of bright colour, eye catching even from the highway bisecting the wheat fields to town.

Shree Karni Mata was born in a Chaaran family in Suwap village, Jodhpur in 1387 AD. She was the sixth girl child of her parents. Her paternal aunt who was present at her parent's place was highly disappointed on the birth of another girl child. The aunt gave vent to her ill-concealed feelings by striking the newly born with knuckles. Immediately the striking fingers were impaired. The family members realized that she is an incarnation and called her Karni (the doer).
At the time of the incarnation of Shree Karni Mata, this desert region (Western Rajahstan) was a disturbed area. There were many groups of war lords with small territories under their control. Fear, plunder and loot reigned. Shree Karni Mata identified the Rathore clan of Rajputs and provided them the wisdom and guidance to establish a large kingdom. Bikaner Royal family accepted her as their family deity and sought her blessings before undertaking any major task. Shree Karni Mata is widely worshiped by a large sec

By unknownBringing Back the Light - Restoring the Life to Canada's Temperate Rainforests
This film explores the practice, the methods and the need for habitat restoration in British Columbia's temperate rainforests. At Central Westcoast Forest Society, we see a clear connection between healthy landscapes and healthy communities. Our coast is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but decades of destructive logging, mining, and development practices have left vast expanses of our temperate rainforest in need of a helping hand. Many wildlife species have become endangered and wild salmon runs that once teemed with life are struggling to survive. Our job is to get the hard work done, and to get it done now. Poverty and need in the local community can often be closer than most people think. Recognizing this need in the local Dayton area (937 area code), our student body at Cedarville University is partnering with ministries that are creating lasting change.
As the Media Director for Cedarville's Student Government, I wanted to create a video that not only exposed the need in our hurting community but also explored ways to help through local ministries. Shoes 4 The Shoeless provides shoes for impoverished children and Target Dayton Ministries provides meals for the poor and homeless. A brief snapshot of these ministries' stories is captured with the goal to inspire our student body and people in general to pour into the local community and serve those within reach that desperately need help.
I shot this video entirely using my Canon T3i and Glidecam HD2000. For most of the glidecam shots, I used a Canon 35mm f2.0. When filming the interviews, I used my Canon 50

The land is not like it once was, however, and the current state of the glades is compared to the historical plight of the Miccosukee and all Native Americans. First their homeland was stolen; now it is being destroyed. Does the political will exist to save this unique place - or these unique people?
