The negative energy which is represented as Evil will be invited and assembled, the youths will create a figure of evil or giants for months as the negative energy symbol. They will carry the figure of evil or giants around the village to invite all negative to the centre of rituals where they will be peaced or be neutralized in order to not disturb the peacefulness of the people’s life. The Pengerupukan is done one day before the Saka new year or The Silent Day where Balinese people do four prohibitions to appreciate the nature as well as to do self-control for one day (24 hours) starting from 6 am to 6 am of the next day. Bjørn, a retired geophysicist of the Norwegian Mapping Authority, had an idea to fix an anomaly along the border between Norway and Finland, and give Finland what would be its tallest mountain for it’s 100th birthday. A short film that combines a heartful story – as mostly told in feature films – with the look and feel of a cinematic high fashion TV commercial. The film was shot over the course of a week in October 2016, under the wonderful warmth of the Andalusian sun in picturesque Spain. The story revolves around a young woman and her two male counterparts, fiercely entangled in a play of reality and imagination – while dressed in Gucci, Jil Sander and Maison Martin Margiela. Two competing motives: desire vs. the pursuit of finding true self. Be cautious, things may not be as they appear!

In January, I got to experience Mallorca from its other side. With my friend Florian Gampert I travelled deep into the mountains and along the beautiful coast. Far away from drunk people. The conditions were extreme. Storms hit us and it poured down almost the hole time at 5°C, a weather you would expect from Iceland where I am every year. However the moments in between rain and fog were incredible, we captured them in this video from the air.

SmashWerks Films' Director, Smash LeFunk, was approached by A Better Life Foundation, a non-profit organization helping put children through school, to travel to Burkina Faso, one of Africa's poorest countries, to document their journey. ABLF covers uniforms, school supplies, books, basic health care, eyeglasses for poor vision, wheelchairs for those with mobility issues, and they monitor academic progress monthly throughout the school year as well as provide counseling to address any domestic concerns. Smash was humbled and honored to be able to document ABLF's journey, witnessing first hand how impactful their mission is.

CAVALLO is a short portrait about my father. He is a 71-year-old horse rider. Horse riding has been his passion for over 50 years now. As an experienced rider he gives us a brief glimpse of what he thinks is the essence of riding.

After capturing her sister’s wedding several years ago and then multiple family functions through the years - Christina and her lovely family brought us back - this time to New York City and the grand-famous Cipriani Wall Street. Teaming up with my lovely and talented wife Vanessa Joy of Vanessa Joy Photography made this a double-treat and twice as nice. I think it’s safe to say that Christina’s father Mario brings the emotion to new heights in this theatrical trailer.
