Documenting Hatem Kalaoun's story as an immigrant to America, a successful small business owner, and a father, has been a passion project for his son, Abraham, ever since college. For the past three years, we've discussed and imagined how we'd film his dad--we just needed the right opportunity! Finally, when we returned to Rhode Island in July 2018 after living in Georgia for a year and a half, we were able to film at the garage, and also interview Hatem to hear from him firsthand. This is the kind of storytelling we here at Cinema Jubilee LOVE to do 🙂 Shot on the Panasonic Lumix GH5, Panasonic Lumix G85, and DJI Mavic Pro; edited on Premiere Pro using the FilmConvert plugin to color grade. HOLLOKO is a Paloc ethnographic village in Hungary/Europe, part of the WORLD HERITAGE. It's name means 'RAVEN STONE' in Hungarian. The village considered the MOST photographed village in Hungary, located approximately 57 miles from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. This remarkable place has traditionally been in habited by PALOC people. PALOC speak an old dialect of Hungarian and have preserved their characteristic architecture and their fold costumes. Recognition of the cultural significance of the settlement was given in 1987 when Holloko was the first village in the WORLD to be added to UNESCO's world Heritage List. The village, which lies in a small valley, has burned down several times ( the last time was back in 1909 ) but each time the inhabitants rebuilt their houses in almost the same shape and forms. With our amazing small crew, most talented high school students and a small girl, we successfully created a deep and heartfelt story from the incredible musician, Cava Menzies. With a 17hr all day shoot by the pacific coast, it was freezing, tiring but fully inspired by the music. A story that flows into an experience that a teacher at an arts school witnessed 2 of her students loss. A story on how being a woman is the hardest role in humanity but proves to be be strongest vessel in our lives. This is what we've created so enjoy!

I wanted to capture what time in the mountains meant to me. On a recent trip where I would typically spend my time skiing, I took the time to get into the back country and explore the mountain regions at a slower pace. It meant a lot of strenuous hikes and climbs but the serenity and beauty of this wondrous environment more than made up for it.

A small walk-in Alberobello, a small town in Apulia (South Italy) internationally know for 'Trulli', a unique kind of home. It's also an UNESCO site and every year million people from all over the world come to see this town where time seems to be stopped many years ago.
