We all have a hometown, somewhere that made us who we are, a place that stirs up dust inside of us. A hometown is where we first found our voice, learned what it meant to be disappointed, where we surprised ourselves for the first time and maybe even proved ourselves wrong. Home is a place we leave and eventually come back to. And when we come back, it’s never the same. Sometimes it’s the place that’s changed, but most of the time, it’s us. We leave our hometown full of ideas about the world that aren’t our own and spend time working towards things that ultimately lead us to dead ends. Part of finding what success looks like for any of us is walking away from those things that hold us back, being real with ourselves about where we’ve come from and having the courage to ask ourselves, “What now?”

This Film takes us through her journey of becoming what she is today. Swetha Subbiah is one of 3 Nike certified instructors in India. Founder of the fitness brand "SWEAT" which operates across verticals which include: - Personal Training - Fitness centre consulting - Corporate fitness programs - Exclusive Personal Training studios.

This film was made as part of a weekly community film 'game' I participate in. The rules for the films made that week were that it had to be shot on a phone, and could only include one cut. I came up with an idea to have what appeared to be several cuts, but weren't. We filmed one hour and a half long single take across several locations on a phone. Each performance had to be good on the first try or we'd have to start over. I then speedramped the black parts in between the scenes. It was an insane exhilarating experience trying to pull it off and it worked out.

Up until a few ago, all that I knew about nurses was that they were nice people that worked in hospitals. Because I dislike nothing more than getting sick or injured I actively avoided hospitals, and thereby most nurses. This all changed when Texas A&M University's College of Nursing reached out to me about filming a promotional video showing why nurses are awesome, and more importantly, why Aggie nurses are the absolute best. Since both my wife and I are Aggies, of course we jumped at the chance to revisit College Station, eat tacos at Fuego, and film something special for the College of Nursing. My fears of hospitals were put aside as we filmed nurses in training, forensic nurses, nurse classes, and even a flight nurse. Which means, you guessed it, I got to fly in a helicopter - EASILY one of the coolest things I've ever done. When Greg Hamblin used words to motivate a group of creatives he had no idea it would turn into such a collaborative venture. This behind the scenes video shows that story, the people and the vision of the 80s shoot.

Poverty and need in the local community can often be closer than most people think. Recognizing this need in the local Dayton area (937 area code), our student body at Cedarville University is partnering with ministries that are creating lasting change.

As the Media Director for Cedarville's Student Government, I wanted to create a video that not only exposed the need in our hurting community but also explored ways to help through local ministries. Shoes 4 The Shoeless provides shoes for impoverished children and Target Dayton Ministries provides meals for the poor and homeless. A brief snapshot of these ministries' stories is captured with the goal to inspire our student body and people in general to pour into the local community and serve those within reach that desperately need help.

I shot this video entirely using my Canon T3i and Glidecam HD2000. For most of the glidecam shots, I used a Canon 35mm f2.0. When filming the interviews, I used my Canon 50

An international popband sensation of centenarian grannies? Yep, it’s KBG84. People in the Okinawa island chain in southern Japan live to be the oldest anywhere in the world. It is designated a BlueZone and has one of the highest concentrations of centenarians. While both men and women of older generations live long lives, women tend to outlive their male counterparts and make it well into their 100s – and Tomi-San is no exception. Unavoidable when you live that long, tragedy entered Tomi’s life when both her son & husband passed away. Tomi found herself in a deep depression. This is the story of how she faced unimaginable hardship and sorrow in her life and in the process broke through barriers beyond her wildest dreams. Film Convert played a role in the final grade as we looked to really bring out the granny's age, frailty, yet paradoxical ruggedness.
