Among the more than 17,000 islands in Indonesia, Bali still shines the brightest in terms of tourism. There are countless other tropical destinations, but for millions of tourists each year, this fascinating island is the favorite. Bali’s beauty goes way deeper than its beautiful appearances. The island is also home to many traditional cultural traditions that are still practiced. The Balinese hold many ceremonies and celebrations throughout the year, many of which can be enjoyed by curious tourists, from the Geret Pandan a Fight with Pandans leaves to the monster parade before the day of silence (Nyepi). Tourists can also enjoy Bali’s culture through music, dance and architecture. The word "paradise" is used a lot in Bali and not without reason. The combination of friendly, hospitable people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and (not least) spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali Indonesia's unrivaled number one tourist attraction.

Poveglia has had a VERY tumultuous history. Its first residents arrived in 421 AD after trying to escape the barbaric invasions of Venice and around the 9th century, the tiny island became densely populated and grew in importance. It later became the turf on which many wars were fought against the barbarians and while most were won, Poveglia's residents had to be permanently displaced in 1379 by the Venician government so it could fortify and use the island to counter the attacks of the Genoans. When the bubonic plague hit Venice in 1348, Lazzarettos (quarantine centers) were established on many small islands including Poveglia to try to contain the pandemic. The Black Death revisited Venice in 1462, 1485, 1506, 1575-1577, and 1629-1631. The 1629-1631 outbreak ended up being the deadliest with an estimated 80,000 deaths in just seventeen months. This video is to remember the Forest Brothers, the post-World War II resistance fighters in Lithuania. In those days, the forest of Kazlu Ruda where this video was shot, was a hiding place for the fighters. The main character walks into the woods and back into his memories. He is here to hide and to escape his everyday troubles and the battles that he has to fight every day.

Roey, a special forces (669) fighter and officer, and his big brother, who served in the Sayeret Matkal and Yamam (Israeli best Elite anti terror units), have founded The Pathway- the way to significant Israeli military service. 
The Pathway is an educational organization which is based on amplifying the inner strength, the love of Israel, dealing with mental and physical challenges, not only for the IDF but to a way of life as well.

In this video I spend a Saturday in my yard being active and trying to land a trick that got the best of me the weekend before.

The Rest was written and composed by Andreas Scholl's and Tamar Halperin's friend Ari Frankel. Opening wiping ceramic tiles, a 5-part song cycle for countertenor and piano, the ex-Israeli American was inspired here by his Polish-born artist parents, and by Italian chemist and writer Primo Levi. The structures of these prayer-like poems are deceptively simple: they are not easy to perform well. In The Rest, it is actually the voice carrying the piano along, with far-reaching lines.

This is an entry in the FilmConvert Cinematography competition for 2015. Genre: documentary.

It was filmed at Port de Dinan and along the River Rance in Brittany in France.

The film was shot using a Sony FS100 camera, part hand-held and part mounted on a Manfrotto video monopod. It was edited in FCP X and colour-graded using FilmConvert. The music, "Dead Horse", was composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

Being inspired by the boats and their markings, the story grew once I met John Booker, a local fisherman. John’s weathered ‘nothing defeats me’ attitude gave me inspiration to create this short film showing the effort it takes him to get the boat to the sea and gives an insight to his long standing connection with the deep blue.

A college student needs to make a choice on whether or not to apply to a $1,000 “Love Your Mother” scholarship after he envisions the life he thinks his mom had in 1997.

I was very inspired by the song of « A bittersweet story that reflects on the fragility of love and the difficulty of letting someone go. ». It tells me a sweet an sour story about how fragile love is and how hard it is to let somebody go. I wanted to describe the feeling you have in those moments. Loneliness, guilt, emotional pain and break up.

It is the end of a love story. She is sad and suffer of being lonely. Without the great actress Gaëlle Gourvennec, it won’t have been the same. She just took these feeling and tells us them without a word through the camera.

The wedding of Chris and Mackenzie Location | Bash- Des Moines, Iowa Date | September 9th . 2017

A fun and light-hearted wedding for an adorable couple in Snowmass, CO.

Our friend Jes is a talented photographer who happens to be a beekeeper on her spare time. She asked us if we wanted to come and film her bees. We then decided to turn this into a little doco. This was originally prompted by the fact that bees were recently declared the most important living beings on this planet. Thus was filmed in the Blue Mountains, close to Sydney, Australia.

This is a short film about the processes by which mountains are created and eventually destroyed. It is based upon the work of British geographer L. Dudley Stamp, and was shot in Iceland.

Physical geography and geology is an enormous and fascinating subject, and this film only touches upon the surface of the discipline. For those who wish to further advance their knowledge in this field, additional reading and research is recommended.

I used often the slow motion capability of the Wonderful Sony rx100 Mk 4, 90% at 240 fps, in 2 occasion (the hummingbirds shots) at 480 fps with sharpening applyied in post. Editing in FCPX, Color grading almost always with Filmconvert. Music by Kevin Macleod.

I shot this as an experiment while driving to see if I could collect footage and edit together a loose storyline out of it. It was shot in the dead of winter in the midwest at night, so I really wanted to bring out the overall cold color instead of the yellow overhead freeway lamps, as well as the grain of winter.

Editing on a friend's machine, I was able to use FilmConvert Pro with the Kodak Vision 3 5207 stock to capture that look that was best for the story.

Patrick Bracelin has been my best friend since college. We did an initial interview with Patrick which quickly turned into, what I would consider, one of my favorite things I've captured on video.

We made the haul to Phoenixville, PA from the DC area for the additional shots we wanted to lay over the video that we had already edited featuring Patrick's interview. This is one of the first interviews I've ever done, and topping this experience will be quite the challenge in the foreseeable future.

Patrick still rides and plans on riding as much as possible. The only difference being either on a track or in the woods now that all of his street bikes have been sold. Bad habits don't have to define your passion. Do what you love even if it may kill you. Life is short, make it count.
