The Maynard School relaunched their brand with a digital, print and cinema campaign ‘Made for Girls’. This 40” cinema commercial was mirrored by a YouTube pre-roll and social media campaign. Strong imagery working in tandem with a voice over drive the narrative. During the 4-day shoot some scenarios were set up for logistical reasons, but we wanted the scenes to feel honest so filmed actual lessons (in brief 30-minute slots to minimise academic disruption). Logistically challenging for producer/director Jason Purvis and the team at the school – but it all came together, and we’re dead chuffed with the result.

This was produced in 2016 for New Zealand Rugby as part of their positive sideline behaviour initiative called 'Applaud'. In the style of a film trailer (there is no movie...yet). The goal was to show how great rugby was (this was a real under 12 game - not contrived) and then contrast it with something negative from a parent on the sideline. The Filmconvert grade (FJSuper X 400/KD 5213 Vis3) was instrumental in hammering home the mood change.

Promotional web video for croatian athlete Marijo Moznik. Another interesting challenge that I had as a director and cinematographer. In mid March 2016 I had to make a short promo video for one of the best gymnast in Croatia, European champion Marijo Možnik. His sponsors Red Bull, Audi and Tag Heuer wanted a dynamic 2.5 minute long film about one day in his life, partially filmed from his point of view. Main target were social networks, media and other promotional channels and main goal was to promote Marijo as an athlete but also to present a little bit of his private life to the audience. After detailed briefing and meetings, shooting started in the end of March. It took two days and 6 locations both in and outdoors. I had a very precise schedule without any deviations, although I filmed 10-12 hours per day. The most demanding spot was Sokol gym hall in center of Zagreb. The building itself is very old with poor natural lighting and to make things even worse, very bad neon lights

This video I produced for free lance artist Jasmine Pradissitto. Working with the client we decided to make a hybrid video a blend of a commercial and documentary style. Jasmine's work is based on colour and light so it was vital that the colour work I did in post did her pieces justice. FilmConvert was a vital element to give the film the look I wanted. My name is Gabe Sanchez, I'm 17 years old and recently I went to London, England. On the trip I took it upon myself to create a film illustrating small moments in the lives of everyday people who live there. The film is meant to be an observation of the place and the people in "snapshots" as the title suggests. It also includes a segment shot in Brighton. The entire film was shot internally on the GH4, using the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 and the GH4's V-Log L profile. Graded with FilmConvert in premiere pro using the FJ 8543 VD stock.

An early labour of love project completed over 8x weekends for Sydney post-rock band Sleepmakewaves. I met Alex from SMW at a Brisbane gig and from there we collaborated to make this simple story about a frustrated scientist converting his thoughts into reality. Building a machine that would allow him to travel as a mysterious energy. Filmed in my old tool shed out in the sticks and out and around the area - this project was completed over 8x weekends with over 30+ visual effects shots.

In February 2014, a group of amputee veterans set forth on a monumental goal for recovery, to climb the world’s tallest free-standing mountain: Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft). Consisting of six amputees and five wingman climbers,the Kilimanjaro Warriors hiked the mountain for eight days overcoming insurmountable obstacles and new challenges with each passing mile; trusting that determination, heart and undeniable grit can triumph over disability.
