"When the Land Calls" was inspired by the work of photographer James Ravillious, who in the 1970s and 80s documented the fast disappearing rural life of North Devon. One of his subjects was farmer Bill Strawbridge. Today Bill's grandson Ed farms the same land. The film follows Ed through his day on the dairy farm and as he looks back at Ravillious's photographs of the farming life in the years before he was born. Earlier this year "When the Land Calls" won the Arri/Director's UK Challenge - to film, edit and deliver a three minute film on the subject of Millenials in just three days using an Arri Amira.

"On the land, between the sea. Where feet are on the air."

The rare, but real moment when the moon meets the sun.
A woman emerges from dark and still water, breaking its smooth surface. She is dancing, tenderly embraced by tiny waves. She is a part of the moment, just like water is a part of the world.

Peter is just another over worked, under paid employee in the corporate world. Being a single father he finds difficulty in managing the demands of having a corporate career while also finding the time to be a father to his daughter Sophia who he must provide for. In 2018, we traveled with our camper through Chile from North to South. This video is the last part of the trip when we got to Patagonia in the middle of winter. It was cold but it was extraordinary. The wilderness of Winter Patagonia is something we won’t forget anytime soon. Most of the time it was just us and the mountains, the pumas, the guanacos and the huemules (endangered Chilean deers). WMSK came to us to create a spot to advertise their Kickstarter Campaign. They expressed they wanted some levity to the piece so we created a small animated character by the name of "Chip". The campaign was a success and the piece was a ton of fun to put together. Primarily graded with FilmConvert FJ 8553 ET and shot with the Panasonic GH5S model w/ Shogun Inferno in Pro Res HQ and a series of Nikkor primes w/ Metabones 64XL.

Wocky doesn't like to exercise, much less on a rainy day. However, there is just one thing that might be able to persuade Wocky to push through his workout.

Before prospective students take a tour of Wofford College, they watch this video in a theater as their first stop. It was filmed with actual students to showcase the true feel of the school.

Woodcastle Furniture makes handcrafted solid wood pieces, while staying green. The cool part about this story is the owner, Ron Loe, has traced his genealogy back over 1,000 years ago to Norway and found that his ancestors were woodworkers too! So I was able to mix in some footage of an old style carpenter. Fun piece!

Speaking from the slum of Bistekville 4 in Quezon City (Manila), volunteer team leader Rob goes through the first 3 days of challenges that the team ohas had to face. But also what made them proud and what made it a trip they'll always remember.

'Working the Sea' follows the fortunes of the Bagwells, a Sidmouth fishing family from the forties when young Stan was fishing with his father in a borrowed boat, to the nineties when they have two fish shops, two trawlers fishing out of Brixham, and three boats working off the beach at Sidmouth. Then, tragedy strikes and the women of the family pick up the pieces. The film also weaves the contemporary users of the coast, from the sailing club to the lifeboat, into the narrative. So this is ultimately a film about community spirit and how a mutual love of and respect for the sea draws people together. 'This stunning film: fascinating and inspiring, funny and humbling is a powerful reminder how lucky we are on the coast'.
