MAHI BINEBINE is a Moroccan painter and novelist born in Marrakech in 1959. Binebine has written six novels which have been translated into various languages. Born in 1959 in Marrakech, Mahi Binebine moved in Paris in 1980 to continue his studies in mathematics, which he taught for eight years. His paintings are part of the permanent collection at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. He returned to Marrakech in 2002 where he currently lives and works.

My girlfriend and I embarked on April 2017 on this epic life-changing experience around the world. We came back one year later with our minds blown away. As a dying android once said: “I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.” As months went by, I never ceased to be amazed by the diversity and the boiling life of our planet, I wanted to share this feeling with others and make a tribute to the Earth and its inhabitants, at a special time in our history when carefulness and respect are most needed. Candombe is a Uruguayan form of cultural expression with roots in colonial slavery. Originating as a parody and mockery of slave masters, it is a proud statement of rebellious spirit and freedom, and an important celebration of Afro-Latino culture and pride. Samburu Moran is a comparsa (candombe troupe) from the small town of Fray Bentos on the Argentine Uruguayan border. Having qualified to compete at Montevideo Carnival for the first time the film captures their preparation and parade performance as they compete against 45 comparsas from across the nation.

Back in 2017, I went on a missions trip to Mirebalais, Haiti. Here's one of the stories I captured. Because of the Haiti Free School Project, Alexis can go to school for free along with 500 other students. It was incredible to see the impact it's had on their lives. I'm eager to get back.

A glimpse into another world. A world where the business of life fades away. Having the opportunity to enter the world of these gentle giants is both humbling and awe inspiring. The way these animals transform from their clumsy terrestrial selves into graceful, precise, creatures underwater is astonishing. You can never predict exactly what a pinniped is going to do next, but you can be assured that it will always grab your attention. Being a human chew toy is fun too.

Jon and James were paired up in March of 2017. At the time they were living on opposite sides of the country. James had never ridden a tandem bicycle and Jon had a bowl style skateboard helmet and his first pair of clip-less cycling shoes, which he was keen to try out for race day. After a couple of wobbly starts and one low speed crash, Jon and James stormed onto their first podium, taking a bronze medal and their first steps toward the 2020 Paralympic Games. This film was created to share their story and raise funds to keep the momentum going.

Sierra Leone has endured a period plagued by one of this century's largest health threats. The country is currently paving the road forwards while facing the challenges of its own recovery along the way. This documentary short provides us with insights from the people who work at Lion Heart Medical Centre and are performing life-changing work on a daily basis. I believe these people are setting an important example for humanitarian aid organisations by showing continued progress towards a state of independence. Their motivation, strong dedication and cross-cultural collaborations were of great inspiration to me.

A mother's worst nightmare comes to life as her 3 year old daughter, Catherine, vanishes suddenly and without a trace. As the mother searches frantically for her child it becomes clear that she will never see her beautiful baby again and that Catherine was never lost. LOST was filmed on a zero dollar budget and was made to bring awareness to the unknown personal trials and horrors associated with the degeneration of the mind, with the hopes of inspiring sensitivity and patience with those who suffer from such conditions.

Little Trees is a experimental short film that was shot, edited, color graded and sound designed by Reggie A Brown. With "Orson Welles War of the Worlds" 1938 radio broadcast playing throughout in this experimental film, I had a strong focus on abstract editing with a old school 16mm film feel - mixed with a new age digital feel, and music that causes dread along with a solid sound design. No audio was recorded during the video recording process, instead, the audio was later recorded and replaced in the post process. My goal was to make this short in a way that'll be memorable and make the audience say, "that was fucking weird", but they'll like it anyway.

This feature film explores the boggled mind of Elliot; a teenager who is haunted by the death of his mother and sister who were killed during a family camping trip. But Elliot can only remember partial segments of that misfortune. As he tries to piece together all of the events that lead up to their tragic death, his memory is triggered by certain objects - a bracelet that his sister Ellie wore, pictures of his family, newspaper articles about the death of his mother and sister, a jewelry box, fire, and a bell.
