Among the more than 17,000 islands in Indonesia, Bali still shines the brightest in terms of tourism. There are countless other tropical destinations, but for millions of tourists each year, this fascinating island is the favorite. Bali’s beauty goes way deeper than its beautiful appearances. The island is also home to many traditional cultural traditions that are still practiced. The Balinese hold many ceremonies and celebrations throughout the year, many of which can be enjoyed by curious tourists, from the Geret Pandan a Fight with Pandans leaves to the monster parade before the day of silence (Nyepi). Tourists can also enjoy Bali’s culture through music, dance and architecture. The word "paradise" is used a lot in Bali and not without reason. The combination of friendly, hospitable people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and (not least) spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali Indonesia's unrivaled number one tourist attraction.

We work hard everyday. We are a crew. We are "Selection". A short promo video for a WOD - one of the biggest dance competition in the world and our crew "Selection" from a FDS dance school based in Prague, Czech Republic.

My Brother and I were asked by dear friends to shoot their special day. This was the first time we had the opportunity to shoot a wedding, and although stressful at times, it was an incredible learning experience. You have one shot to to capture the highlights of the bride and grooms day, and being able to tell the story while still keeping the viewers attention was challenging. We were pretty happy how it turned out, I hope you enjoy.

Ngelawang performed by a group of children with Barong paraded around the village and accompanied by Gamelan Ngelawang is a tradition in the celebration of the feast Galungan and Hari Raya Kuningan in Bali. Ngelawang derived from the gates (doors) which means ngelawang is staging conducted from house to house and from village to village using bangkung barong (a barong pig figure). This tradition aims to drive out evil spirits and protect the population from outbreaks or diseases caused by spirits (bhuta kala). At the time lasted ngelawang, the homeowner will provide the money as haturan. Ngelawang derived from the mythological goddess Ulun Danu who turns into a giant who helps the villagers do evil spirits. Once this ritual is a sacred rite so if barong scattered feathers, then people will pick it up and make it as auspicious objects. Now, ngelawang made art show presented by the children.

Pengerupukan day takes place every 420 days, which is on the ninth dark moon of Bali’s lunar calendar. It is a day when every village on Bali will do sacrification rituals to neutralize the negative energy. It usually takes place on the main crossroad of the village which is believed to be the zero spot of the balance. The negative energy which is represented as Evil will be invited and assembled, the youths will create a figure of evil or giants for months as the negative energy symbol. They will carry the figure of evil or giants around the village to invite all negative to the centre of rituals where they will be peaced or be neutralized in order to not disturb the peacefulness of the people’s life. The Pengerupukan is done one day before the Saka new year or The Silent Day where Balinese people do four prohibitions to appreciate the nature as well as to do self-control for one day (24 hours) starting from 6 am to 6 am of the next day. SmashWerks Films' Director, Smash LeFunk, was approached by A Better Life Foundation, a non-profit organization helping put children through school, to travel to Burkina Faso, one of Africa's poorest countries, to document their journey. ABLF covers uniforms, school supplies, books, basic health care, eyeglasses for poor vision, wheelchairs for those with mobility issues, and they monitor academic progress monthly throughout the school year as well as provide counseling to address any domestic concerns. Smash was humbled and honored to be able to document ABLF's journey, witnessing first hand how impactful their mission is.

After 28 years working as a Mountain Rescue, my Father retired. This is a short documentary about his career, his experiences and about a job of which the details are not well known to many. I have, myself, learned a lot during the two days while making this portrait. The joys of having a job that was more a passion than work, the strong bonds made over the years, but also the risks and the emotional impact of some of the missions. So, here is a short and condensed piece about a career that is, to me, extraordinary; of a humble and courageous man that I call my Dad.

(The 1987 team was featured in the Disney film McFarland, USA (2015), starring Kevin Costner.) This inspiring documentary focuses on the challenges, teamwork, and camaraderie of the runners, coaches, families, and community supporters. The unbreakable bonds that they have forged transcend familial ties and reach across generations.
