By Houston RaefThe Rest was written and composed by Andreas Scholl's and Tamar Halperin's friend Ari Frankel. Opening wiping ceramic tiles, a 5-part song cycle for countertenor and piano, the ex-Israeli American was inspired here by his Polish-born artist parents, and by Italian chemist and writer Primo Levi. The structures of these prayer-like poems are deceptively simple: they are not easy to perform well. In The Rest, it is actually the voice carrying the piano along, with far-reaching lines.
By Andreas SchollFor a weekly film challenge competition I take part in around the Atlanta community. The rules were that it had to include slow motion and two props.
By James WightmanThis film was made as part of a weekly community film 'game' I participate in. The rules for the films made that week were that it had to be shot on a phone, and could only include one cut. I came up with an idea to have what appeared to be several cuts, but weren't. We filmed one hour and a half long single take across several locations on a phone. Each performance had to be good on the first try or we'd have to start over. I then speedramped the black parts in between the scenes. It was an insane exhilarating experience trying to pull it off and it worked out.
By James WightmanI was trying to see how much I could cram into a minute long narrative. The film needed to include five shots of unaltered clocks reading 11:48 per the rules of a weekly community film challenge game I participate in.
By James WightmanThis was an interesting one. Fred Mascherino's team approached me about doing a lyric video right around the time I was making a big transition in life moving from Seattle to Atlanta (by car). But they gave me a lot of creative freedom to try something weird so despite the stress and inconvience of trying to get this project finished while prepping to leave and then being on the road, I said yes and we came up with this stop motion final product. Shot on Panasonic GH5 and color graded using Lumetri and FilmConvert

By Janis KlinkenbergIt is hard to overstate how incredible the city of Florence is as a wedding location… truly breathtaking. Kim and Ken who got married in an ancient castle just outside Florence had the most amazing celebration filled with happiness, love and laughter. At White Balloon Films we believe that this non-linear narrative enhanced by Filmconvert's colours best represents their day. Watch as the story unfolds!

By Stephan Fröhlich8 days in Germany weren't enough, not even close. We visited many locations across SW and Southern Germany and we only wished we had more time. Bacharach and the Rhine, Freiburg and the Black Forest, Lindau and Lake Constance, Füssen and the Neuschwanstein Castle, Eibsee and Zugspitze. These were just some of the highlights of our trip.
By Adrian VilaThis is a video about intersections. Simon was on his way to Nepal for a shoot and had time to spare on a layover, Milo had five days off between consecutive shoots in Europe and New York: so we decided to meet in Oman to combine our passions of trail running and filmmaking. Little spaces open up in our schedules sometimes, and this was an opportunity to cross paths with purpose. Oman’s landscape and culture was new to us, we knew nothing and we had no expectations, but that was part of the plan. There’s a tension between having a plan and trying something new, between traveling to a new place and doing something familiar.

By Jeffrey HahnIn the minds of many, Colombia is still regarded as a dangerous country. One which only summons up images of Pablo Escobar and the guerrilla fighters. Yet with the peace agreement in 2016, Colombia is finding peace. Filmmakers Simon Straetker and Tobias Hauser set out to discover this different side of Colombia— one that isn’t featured in the bombastic headlines. During their four-week road trip across the nation’s center and coast, they experienced the most friendly people from every stratum of Columbian society. People who welcomed them into their homes, shared their views on the world and gave them a candid glimpse into what the Colombians want their nation to be like. Their short film features those very encounters and places.

By salvadorThis beautiful film spotlights artist Melissa Spratt and Relative Creative as they collaborate on this textile piece of protest art. The artwork is contemporary in nature while the film is nostalgic in style. The aim was to compliment the nostalgia that yarn invokes while emphasis on the process and philosophy of this exciting piece of artwork that is described as futures map. By Manny LiottaIt's not often that weddings look beyond the horizon, to something bigger, something more than even two madly in love could contain. It's rare, but not impossible. Such is a Christian wedding at its purist. In a deeply surprising and yet practical way, the Bible says that marriages points at the cosmic, capital 'M' marriage of Jesus and the believers that make up the Church. As a man of faith, a leader at my church AND a wedding cinematographer I happily celebrate weddings from faiths across the board. But every once in awhile I am refreshed by a couple of whom I share this deep conviction - that the day is about them - of course it is! - but it's about so much more.

By alex delfontDoomadgee women look beyond themselves, rekindling a sense of purpose by helping Papua New Guinean women in extreme poverty. This documentary was a journey of exploration for the heart of our story, Veronica. This story lives in two locations, Doomadgee, Australia, a remote indigenous community and Mabaduan, Papua New Guinea, an even more remote coastal community. Our team consisted of an international team (director from USA, DP & Cinematographer from Canada), while our subjects were from a remote indigenous community in the far north west Queensland, Australia and our travel took us to an incredibly remote village in Papua New Guinea. Film Convert was our primary tool for grading and added the essential emotional theme.

Thus was filmed in the Blue Mountains, close to Sydney, Australia.
